They seem very figurative and range from different styles, the first for example looks very air brushed and more like a picture perfect painting (alliteration, it's nice when things work out). Where as the second poster screams Andy Warhol and kind of graphic design style!
Here's a Chevrolet AC spark plug poster, I'm using this one as an example but it is a theme I've seen in a lot of ads between 1940-1960. In the small print here it says 'The same AC spark plugs that add power to this car of tomorrow are available for your car today' now this sentence not only adds value you the item mentioned but also the car itself by making out that this car is somehow futuristic and incredibly new! This is great because as we know society always wants to be up to date with all the new toys and gadgets, this is a brilliant advertising tool.
