Alex Steinweiss

Steinweiss, a Brooklyn born graphic design is most famously recognised for his album artwork. He had designed above 2000 album covers before his death! He was also responsible for the design of the 33 1/3 rpm LP jackets that are used today!

A lot of his album are is quite abstract even when he's included figures these too are abstract for example the 'Boogie Woogie' cover that sees two giant hands that would seem to be silhouette but fold over as if they are playing the piano!

This last album cover is my favourite I love how he's incorporated a figure in to such a basic back ground that normally I would think need something else to add more to it but here it's gorgeous in its simplicity!
